Feature Enhancements: Week of July 3, 2023

We're constantly working to improve your SpotOn experience by enhancing what you currently use and love. Here is a summary of what has changed this past week.

What's New or Improved

• Start a tab (SpotOn Restaurant POS)

  • Summary: With start a tab, you can open tabs and pre-authorize cards, based on a pre-set limit setup in the back of house, to confirm the card is valid and has sufficient funds. If incremental authorization is enabled, then the card will continue to be pre-authorized as the tab increases with each send (not each item).

  • Benefits for you:

    • Eliminates unpaid walkouts

    • Avoids credit card fraud and chargebacks by securely starting a tab with credit card insert instead of swipe

    • Provides peace of mind and a better guest experience by returning the guest’s card after opening a tab
